Value: $12,000

The Carpathian chamois is the largest chamois subspecies in the world. This world-class trophy can be found in the Făgăraș and Bucegi Mountains. The world record of 141 CIC points was taken here in 1937. It is one of the most-wanted trophies by hunters, worldwide.

Hunting difficulty here in Romania ranges from medium to hard, with some areas even considered extreme. Trophies scoring around 100 CIC points are common, while specimens exceeding 110 CIC points can be found without major difficulty.

The hunting area is approximately three hours from Bucharest International Airport. Accommodation is provided in a very comfortable hotel located at an altitude of 2,000 meters. The area hosts a large population of game species. However, the shooting quota is lower than usual due to the presence of predators and heavy snowfall, which has caused losses among species. Hunting takes place in a spectacular rocky mountain environment. In good weather conditions, it is possible to observe 30–40 chamois in a single day.

Available for one hunter from 15 October to 30 November in either 2026 or 2027, Chamois hunting can be combined with Carpathian brown bear hunting, conducted over bait from high seats. The Carpathian brown bear is the largest carnivore in Europe. The winning bidder can also upgrade to include European brown bear, Stag, Fallow, Mouflon, or Roe deer.

Romania also offers many touristic attractions, such as the Danube Delta and Dracula’s Castle (located approximately two hours from the hunting area), and visits to locations such as these can be added on to your experience (not included in the donation).

A minimum of three hunting days is required in this five-day trip: chamois hunting will happen in the morning and bear hunting (if added) will take place in the afternoon.

Included in this donation is: one trophy Chamois trophy, guiding, half board lodging, airport transport to hunting area and back, skinning, and permits.

Not included are additional species, flights, shipping, and gratuities.

Weatherby Foundation International is grateful to Shikar Safaris and Abies International for this 100% donation.
